[VAC] Clear Plastic Rug Runners as Temporary Window Protection
Terry,
I never thought of using clear plastic rug runners but it is a good idea for
temporary protection. If I had, I could have saved myself (and my insurance
company) close to $1k recently.
I bought a nice '84 Excella 31' from a good friend just days before the
Cherry Blossom Rally. The trailer was never equipped with three piece rock
guard front window awnings.
On my trip home I glance up in my truck's outside rear view mirrors to
observe a huge, jagged, ugly hole in the center of the street side curved
front window. Apparently a passing or meeting vehicle had flipped up a
stone. I didn't hear it when it occurred but the window shattered into 100k
tiny fragments and began falling out, chunk by chunk. Not a pleasant
experience.
Before my next journey the trailer will have a rock guard awning installed.
