If you MUST mix, radials on the rear and bias ply on the front is the
only thing half safe. Any other mix is a wreck in the planning. But bias
ply on the front is still less than optimum in a hard or panic stop
because the bias ply will loose traction sooner than radial. Once the
front tires loose traction and skid you loose directional control. You
probably will slide straight. Vehicle braking systems are designed to
lock up the front brakes first, because sliding straight is considered
safer than having the back end get ahead of the front if the front
brakes don't lock and the back ones do. Bias ply on the back and radial
on the front makes that end for end swap more likely.

The truck may track beautifully, but what happens in a panic stop. I
think you will find the front brakes locking far sooner than the rear.

Are you wearing seat belts in the vintage vehicle? You should update it
to include seat belts even if it didn't have them originally and the
state laws on seat belts don't require them in the vintage vehicles.
Being thrown from a rolling (sideways) vehicle tends to be terminal for
driver and passengers, first the impact is rough and then the vehicle
tumbling over you is a second insult to life.
