[VAC] Re: Propane lamps
I use my propane lamp occasionally and it is very
bright. Side benefit is that it produces a bit of heat to warm and
dry the coach on chilly damp nights.
My view is that Diversified power sources are the way to energy
independence. It doesn't cost anything to keep the gas fixture if
you already have it, but I wouldn't spend a huge fortune to add one if
you don't have one already.
If you are simply concerned about a backup light source in propane, the
little Olympus lamp can be installed against any available open fixture
and hung where you need it. I recently tested this unit with house
gas on my 66 Safari and it was fine, but a bit inconvenient in that it is
a loose fixture.
I'd rather put my money into cool white flurescents for general light and
the 12 volt bullets and LED strips for ambience.
