Sounds like a previous owner was being 'creative'. Take one of the cracked
end-caps to home depot, or whatever, and see if they have a replacement. My
'65 Globetrotter had an aluminum rear bumper that was actually a long 'box',
with a flip-up lid. The sewer hose stowed in there...
