Pat,

Just a guess...........that phenomenon may occur because your pickup brakes
don't work as well until the pads/linings are warmed up by driving a few
miles and making several stops.  Consequently you are applying more pedal
pressure to attain the same amount of truck braking action.  The increase in
hydraulic pressure is felt by the wonderful old K-H controller which
translates the increased hydraulic pressure to excessive trailer braking.
