I've been talking to Jason Wright at Henschen, and have just about settled
on a 3500# axle with a 22.5 degree 'bend' (which is done at the torsion arm,
leaving the axle straight). They use the same Dexter brakes as were added to
the new (5-10 years ago?) Dexter axle. The frame-rails and leaf-springs were
original. Since i'm fabbing a new frame, i can use about any shocks i
want... thinking of what Bill Scott would say about air-shocks, adjustable
from the tow vehicle...
