I talked to 1 of the 2 Minnesota Fire Marshalls a
couple months back and asked about this - He pulled
out one of his engineering books and provided specific
data noting that a shiny white surface reflects
significantly more heat than a shiny aluminum surface.
 HOWEVER, he also stated that "significant" in this
case was measured in terms that your average person
wouldn't necessarily be able to tell the difference.
