 I don't think it much matters if the hose is "food grade" or not. Even
if it happens to leach some sort of chemicals into the water (something
I consider unlikely), the water is in contact with the hose only during
the milliseconds it takes to pass through, so the risk is minimal at
worst. It wouldn't worry me to drink the water for that reason, I'm much
more worried about the critters that grow in the tank when it's sitting
unused between trips.
