Robert-
I spoke with a PhD who specializes in polymer plastics at NC State.  He
thought the only way it could be repaired was through "welding".  Apparently
the melting point of LDPE is around 250 degree f.  I hope he could provide
some local names to perform the work.  I wish I could use some miracle goo
that I could squeeze from a tube!
