[VAC] Sleepers

I wanted to let the list members know of an extremely helpful person named "Wes" at Recovery Room (Showroom & Installation) at Riverside, CA  (Phone: 909-688-4829/Fax: 909-688-4729).  As I understand it, they upholster R.V seating in their shop, and because they are 1 mile from a Flexsteel distributor they have ready access to Flexsteel furniture and fabrics.  After I found the Flexsteel fabric that I liked at a local furniture store, I gave him the 5 digit number, and he checked availability within 2 minutes.

I've been looking into sleepers lately (couches that open up into beds) for an Overlander.  The bed in the middle took up so much floor space that I wanted to replace it with a sleeper.  Camping World sells a 72" Flexsteel Easy Bed(R) sleeper with four choices of fabric for around $430 (member price) plus shipping.  This is Flexsteel's 4049.  I needed a 76" sleeper and Camping World didn't do custom orders.  I learned that the Easy Bed needs to be bolted onto the floor by U-shaped tubular legs.  It has 10" of clearance under the couch between the legs.  It makes into a bed that is 46" wide by the specified couch width.  What best suits my needs is the Flexsteel Jackknife(R) 7120.  It comes in various couch widths of 70", 72" and 76".  The open bed dimensions are 42" wide by the respective couch width.  It can be fastened onto plywood over built-in cupboards.  The folding mechanism for both the Easy Bed and Jackknife are similar and do not drop below the lower seat level.
