[VAC] Window seals and UV protection

Does anyone know what the original seal used where the
windows mates with the frame?  I have some newer
weatherstripping that is falling to pieces, and I want
to make sure the windows are making a tight seal.

Also, does anyone have experience with window films
that reduce glare and provide UV protection (like the
Low-E film sold by RealGoods).
