[VAC] Re: heel bearings, seals, brakes...

 Most recommendations that I've seen say to repack bearings and check
brakes every 10,000 miles or thereabouts. If you don't know when it was
done last, you might consider either doing it yourself or having a local
RV/trailer place do it for you before setting off.

AT THE VERY LEAST: jack up the trailer and spin the wheels. They should
turn freely, with no scraping or grinding noises. If it's set for a long
time, there might be some rust in the drums that will cause a slight
scraping noise, just a "swish, swish" as it spins, but it should be very
smooth otherwise. Then, monitor the wheels and hubs very closely during
the first couple of hours, stopping every 30 minutes or so.
