[VAC] Re: Various subjects

Carole and Rob,

The best product I am aware of for replacement windows in vintage A/Ss is
Acrylite II. It is a little pricey but is used in commercial buildings and
is scratch resistant. Several windows in my '66 Safari, including the front
one which is unprotected by a stone guard, are cut from Acrylite II.

My vintage trailer doesn't have the backup lights but I am skeptical about
their usefulness since they are so small. Sometimes stopping and walking
around behind the trailer or having the copilot stand in the area you plan
to back into is more effective.

RJ Dial recently wrote of attempting to remove dents with dry ice. I think
his conclusion was that the method is a myth. An experienced local A/S
mechanic who has worked on A/Ss for many years told me he has never had any
luck with dry ice.
