[VAC] Re: Toilet for a 64 Globetrotter

Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. The Folks at Thetford suggested the
Aqua Magic Galaxy or Starlight in the low profile model. Unfortunately,
the bowl is placed too far forward with respect to the flange. Maybe I
should state here that the bowl and the base is missing....What I have
is a hole in the tank, a piece of plywood and a flange. In our trailer
the leading edge of the flange is only 3 3/4" from the edge of the
surround. All the Thetfords require about 5-6" here.

The choices that I see here are to cut into the fiberglass surround in
the front of the bowl to fit (not an option) or rebuild the new toilet
making the modifications needed to essentially move the bowl back with
respect to the flange. I have been told by Ron at S. Jersey RV that the
latter is what they do and even then they have to cut into the top of
the fiberglass. I really want to minimize fiberglass cutting.

The good news is that I may have found a Thetford 1400! Probably needs
work but at least I will have something to work with!

Any other suggestions are gratefully solicited!
thanks
