RJ, my 1971 Tradewind was bought new off the dealer's showroom floor. It was
not shiny polished like the folks are doing now with buffers. It looked to
me at the time like the then current trailers. I never saw a highly polished
Airstream until us vintage trailer owners started doing it as part of the
restoration process. In the case of the 1971 Tradewind, buffing it to a
mirror finish is going beyond restoration to original condition. But I like
them mirror bright anyway.
