Hi Don,

Can't answer your questions about the "T" strip or the stainless screws.  I
have the smoke shield on my '69 Safari and it's badly deteriorated in the
aluminum.  Long years of standing in the rain and total oxidation of some of
the flat alumium separations between the window sections.  I think I can fix
it OK.  However, I've not found a provision for holding it open.  There's a
slide on each side, but no spring button, etc.  What is the hold open
mechanism of your shield?

BTW, my shield was mounted with stainless sheet metal screws, not the
olympic type rivets.  Might have something to do with periodic maintenance.
