Usually the major caution with a Zip Dee awning is the rear torsion spring
assembly. It sounds, however, like your spring is broken or jammed. None the
less be very careful until you are sure the spring is unwound. The awning is
anchored were you see it from the ground at the top and bottom of the vertical
hardware arms. It is also anchored on top, several inches in from each end along
the awning rail by small screws. These top anchors are to keep the fabric from
shifting. Once you have disconnected the bottom hardware anchor points,
disconnected the travel locks, and taken out the fabric anchor screws you should
be able to slide the awning to the rear with the help of two additional people.
Once the rear arm clears the back of the coach you can use the arm to control
the spring tension as you unwind it.
