[VAC] Re: insulation - heaters - cold climates

The biggest problem with foam panels and fixed structures are the leaks
alongside the panels where the fit to the structure is imperfect.
Fiberglass bats can expand to fit those gaps and so provide more
complete insulation. Otherwise some foam-in-place if it doesn't eat the
foam panels should be used to close up the gaps. That's the main claim
to fame from the Icynene product, that it fills the gaps even better
than fiberglass bats. At three times the cost. Its R value per inch
isn't all that great.
