I sandblasted our chassis and repainted it - worked fine for that. It would be a tedious way to remove solid paint from tanks! When you got done, you could never polish them, though.

For giggles & grins I blasted some of the belly skins while I was under there using both sand and plastic medium. The results were such that you could never polish the skin again. The resulting coarse elephant hide would be good for painting, and that's it.
