There is also a belief that alclad will "heal" itself through oxidation. In that case, the important part would be to maintain the shine with a no cut polish like AP-300. when, eventually the surface oxidizes again, the requirement for using a highly abrasive agent, like Rolite Pre-Polish, might not be necessary.
