[VAC] Re: Sealing plywood




I used polyester resin .  There is a smell for a while, but after a few
months I don't notice anything. My brother-in-law used epoxy and I don't
recall smelling much of anything from his boat while he was building it.  I
can't imagine that there's any more gas produced than any other building
material produces.

Incidentally, the polyester resin is not supposed to be as good as the
epoxy, but yet the boat I made out of plywood coated with polyester resin
(and fiberglass cloth on one side) seems to be holding up fine after ten
years. I used polyester because I had to hold costs down.
