[VAC] A/S Floor Repair

Marc,

Thank you for the clear and understandable details of your floor repair.

The repair technique you used would be completely satisfactory to me. I
lack sufficient skill, determination, and patience to even contemplate
removing the body to replace the floor of my trailer. I admire people who
have those qualities and wish I did also, but I'm simply not in their
league. So among my several options, I can rule out the best and most
correct solution and move down the list to consider lesser quality repairs.

My current dilemma is to weigh conflicting advice I have received from
helpful and knowledgeable list members and try to figure out which method
and which material will work best for me. Knowing nothing about the use of
resins, polymers, and other materials I am reduced to using a method no more
scientific than flipping a coin to decide which advice to follow. Here on
the South Plains of Texas where I live, boat builders and wood-hulled boat
repair facilities are in short supply (like non-existent) so I can't visit a
marine craftsman and get his recommendation.

Do any other list members have opposing points of view or other
recommendations? I know that there are at least a couple of engineers,
people with manufacturing backgrounds, and others with specialized knowledge
related to the project I am planning on this list, I would be grateful to
hear from anyone with something to say on the subject.

It is interesting to consider that several days ago I had no idea how to
approach my floor problem and now the problem has shifted, with no more
effort required than to post a question on two A/S lists, to one of
selecting between several great suggestions. I'm sure glad I discovered
this list.

Thank you.
