terry... my nameplates on my 68 overlander were faded but not worn out,so i 
got secialty aluminum paint in the suitable colours ,and with a small 'art 
type' fine brush was able to do wonders to these 'works of art'...the 
airstream letters are each individually cast pieces...you will be amazed at 
how'alive 'they become in a surprisingly small amount of time/cost...peter
