Peter,

If you've just refilled the LPG bottles is it possible that you still have
air in the line?  Sometimes, if the bottles have been emptied and removed
you must first purge all of the air from the lines between the bottles and
the burner you are trying to light.  If the thermocouple is bad you can
normally light the furnace while holding down the thermocouple/safety bypass
valve but once the flame is burning and you release the valve, your flame
will go out.  If you are unable to light the flame, try lighting the burners
on the top of the stove first and purge most of the air then try again to
light the furnace.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to wait for a recommendation from someone
who knows more about gas appliances than I.
