Ken, back when I had my '65 Globetrotter, i replaced the knob/lockset with a
Schlage deadbolt. The principal advantage being that the mounting holes were
'ready-made'... i did have to enlarge the mortise/hole to receive the
deadbolt, and rather than using a knob, i used the key in the deadbolt to
open the door...
