The coldest I've seen at 42 degrees north (Central City, or Ames) has
been about -36. Though I've seen colder weather in Mason City (nearly
Minnesota) where a mere -30 seemed to be normal that winter.

My Caravel was warmed nicely by a 1500 watt heater last month at 25
outside temperature one night in Missouri.
