Re: [VAC] Reese friction sway control bar

Jim,

I've got one on my rig (31' Excella and GMC Van), since I've never
pulled it without the sway bar, I can only tell you about differences in
tension that I've tried out on the sway bar.

It definitely makes a difference when it's cranked all the way down,
mine however is a bit rusty and when I crank the tightness all the way down
the sharp turns put up a bit of racket when the sway bar decides that's it
time to let things slide instead of break. It' doesn't get rid of the
swaying completely, but you do still feel in control. I would liken it to
the leveling hich, only in the horzontal axis, that is it transfers some of
the sway into the tow vehicle rather than allowing all the force to be
applied at either end of the trailer while the big rig goes by. You still
feel the sway, but it gets spread out over both vehicles.
