RE: [VAC] Twin mattress type

We ordered a custom mattress from Jonathan Stevens.  They will make any
mattress a custom size for an additional $25.  Ours came to $190 for a
48"X74".

The bedroom had a couch on one side and a dresser/wardrobe on the other
(goucho?).  The fold down couch was too small to sleep both of us (the
bottom drape rail can be medievally cruel in the middle of the night).

A 'full' mattress would fit, but left very little hallway.  We decided on
48", which has worked out great.  The bed frame can slide out that far and
we simply added support dowels on the outside for the weight.  Wrapped the
dowels in left over tambour material for a matching flavor.  We then moved
the better cushion up to the front couch.

It is much more congenial than original.  Looks great.  No modifications.
