There is a baffle that keeps water from pouring into the combustion
chamber (but not the bugs).  The exhaust duct becomes one with
combustion chamber outlet, and rarely is separable.  It is best to drop
the bottom out of the combustion chamber & clean the pilot assy and
burner ring.  Then you can inspect and clean the exhaust port.  Remove
the deflector from the outside (riveted) for additional access to the
duct .
