Re: [VAC] 63 Trade Wind A/C

Hal,
I have cc'd to Tom Reed, past President of the VAC, this letter. I
think he has the old Armstrong Bay Breeze a/c, and he could answer your
question. Since you live in Houston, I understand why you need Air
Conditioning. Tom's coach is original, and a beauty. He has won best
of show, and members choice in different Concours d'Elegance. I
think if I were to install an A/C in a 63 TW, I would try to install a
floor model, like the Cool Cat, or a Basement type like the Duo Therm.
Even a window type unit, installed on the floor under the cabinetry, or
under the front couch, would be better than on top. Of course, that is
just my preference, because I like the roof top clean for aerodynamics,
and less weight up above. Your call. If that center hole is not
14x14, it should not be a problem to have it trimmed to 14x14.
Good Luck.
