Re: [VAC] Installing Fan-tastic Fans

Luckily, I have a local Granger outlet and they had a fan motor that will
work. It is a , Dayton motor, part number 2M197. I had to ream out the
support flange about 1/8 inch and cut the shaft, but it works okay; there is
a vibration that shakes things up a little. I will also have to add a 1/2
inch foam insulation strip on the lid to keep the lid off the fan blade while
not in use.

My problem was low voltage. I thought that the battery was being charged by
the univolt while plugged into city power but this doesn't seem to be the
case. Does anyone know if the univolt is supposed to charge the battery and
if so, how do I get it to work in my unit?

The low voltage of the battery led to a burnt motor. I am thinking of
getting a battery charger to keep the 12 volt system up to snuff. Also, I
have to check the wiring from the tow vehicle for charge. Will drop the
access plate behind the tongue this weekend and see if I have a loose wire in
there.
