[VAC] Concours d'Elegance Winners, Bismarck 2000

Friday, June 30th, Y2K:

Today the Vintage Airstream Club, will hold its Open House, and Concours
d'Elegance. Forty eight vintage trailers are parked in the Vintage
area, and most are making ready for the Open House and Concours Judging.
As far as we know, this Concours is the only "Trailercoach" Vintage
Concours in the world. Concours d'Elegance, (Say concourse della-gahns)
is French, meaning a coming together for elegance. Originally it was
used to judge horses and carriages. Today it is used for judging boats,
planes, sports cars, classic cars, and others. This is a fun game, and
not to be taken too seriously.

The excitement continued to build until 1pm when the doors were opened,
the crowd arrived, and the judges, guided by the steward, made their way
to view each entrant. The judges were ; Wilson Yerk, Region 2
President, Sue Collins, Region 9 President Elect, and Dave Levinson,
Unit Past President. The judges were very impressed with the
workmanship, and innovation on some of the coaches. I wish to thank the
judges for their efforts and participation. Later the scores were
tallied for all the categories, special awards, and top prizes like Best
of Show and Members Choice.

The results were announced at the annual Breakfast on Monday, July 3,
