RE: [VAC] Help!

Celia,
Is your 24' a Tradewind? They were all Land Yachts at that time, but each
length had a name. There are some other '59's on this list, probably all at
the Rallies now.
When you say the whole thing needs a new floor, are you talking about floor
finish or sub-floor? They are two very different animals, one is a lamb (
the finish) the other is a dragon! I would guess that you mean your plywood
subfloor is rotten, all of ours are in one area or another. Some here have
gone so far as to lift the shell off and put on an entire new platform
(best), some have replaced bad sections (hard, for us anyway), and an
enlightened few have used an epoxy product that fills in the rotted spaces
and creates a strong floor without ripping out anything (smarter).
The way Airstream built these, the plywood went on the frame, the linoleum
went on next, then the track, studs and skins. Where the plywood has rotted
from the edge, we are having a tough time getting something shoved in there
to support the frame. There are portions of bent aluminum track (which
holds the wall studs in line), metal bolts, and bent skin to work around. I
wish we could have just lifted the body off and done it right!!!
Let us know which model you have, and what you have to do to your floor!
