Re: [VAC] gray water tank, 72 27 Intl Ambassador

Hi Judy White,

In your note, you asked about a grey water tank.

We use the suitcase size (5 gal.) blue tote for
the two of us and it's sufficient for all daytime
waste grey water. I empty it once a day which
tells you that five gallons is our typical amount
of waste grey water. We use public facilities
when and where they are available as a supplement.

In locations when it is sanitary and legally
acceptable to allow grey shower water on the
ground, I will put out a length (25-50') of
green hose and selectively position it where
the water will drain and be absorbed quickly.
The green hose is put out ONLY for showers
being taken at night before retiring and is
ALWAYS IMMEDIATELY put away afterwards.

It makes no sense to me to provide anyone with an
easy visual opportunity to misinterpret what is
being drained. Nor does it make sense to me to
call any attention to ourselves when we're
taking our showers. The rule of thumb we use
is "discrete green no see ums."

Not having a grey water tank is no big deal
for us. We are rarely inconvenienced because
of needing to use a blue tank. As chief doer
of the deed, five gallons weighs only 40 pounds.
Every day, there are many things I do routinely
which require more energy than waltzing off to
a bathroom with a blue suitcase.

Whereas, the rebuilding of our Airstream's frame
to accommodate a grey water tank would be a big
deal.
