Re: [VAC] Chalk
One of the "overtime" used sealant for panels has been
Alcoa Aluminum Pigmented GutterSeal (grey
color) to seal the seams. Try to find a auto parts stores or call Aluminum
Co of America, 1501 Alcoa Bldg. Pittsburgh PA 15219, 1-412-553-400l and
ask for distributor for your area and call them for those they are selling
to. When you use it carefully run a small bead at joint and let it "wick"
into the seam in short spell. Do not try to touch it up or use fingers or
tool on it when wet as you will just make a mess of things. Let it dry
and
then go back and correct your mistakes. It has been used on Airstreams
for
years. Practice it bit to get familiar with it before hitting the
trailer.
Vulem is the other popular chalk for around ceilng openings, wheel wells
and other larger openings not so exposed to viewing . Folks have used
Vulkem to seal panels also but it is a bit difficult to use for this
purpose.
