[VAC] HELP!!!

Howdy,
I have a situation and I need some advice. I have a 1973 Airstream 23' Safari. I decided to try Homer's products and take the clear coat off and polish her up. I am not trying in any way to bad-mouth Homer's products because I think I am applying them incorrectly.

I am running into two problems: one is the clearcoat is not coming off very easy. The second problem is when I use the polish/cleaner Homer's sent me, my cleaning cloths fill up with the black oxidation so fast that the finish left is a dark polish.

I am asking for advice on how I might get the clearcoat off and how I might use the polish to better clean my Airstream. I will be honest, it looked better before I started to "clean" it.

Thanks in advance for your sage advice.
