There is always someone selling snake oil or magic juice, but it never
works.  Aircraft stripper, or almost any paint stripper, will melt the
clear coat, (Plasticote) then you must wipe it off or hose it off with
water.  After the clear coat is gone, you must then begin, and I say
AGAIN, BEGIN the polishing process.  Part of the polishing process is
abrading the old oxidized aluminum with polish, then buffing it to a
high mirror like sheen.  If some old timer tells you about oven cleaner,
or cameo, or using flour, or some other NON- SENSE, just disregard.
There are NO shortcuts in the Polishing scheme.  Axial, rotary, drum,
orbital, or by hand, it must be polished off in a series of steps, each
step being a little step and each one, finer, and finer.
