[VAC] Solar Power

Thanks for the tips on the 12v light bulbs, I found them at Wal Mart for
1.47 each!  Now, one question about the solar charger, several of you have
warned about overcharging the battery.  Doesn't the solar panel which is
just for battery charging come with something that stops the juice from
going to the battery when it is fully charged?  How do you all know what
your battery is charged at at any given time, is there a device you attach
to read this?  As you can see, my experience with batteries is limited to AA
through D, use them until they're dead.
Our usage will be pretty low, a few lights, fan, radio. Probably just one
battery for now, until we add a TV or something.
