We run our catalytic heater all night. Its not vented to the outside, but we always open the front and back vents about an inch to vent any gas. Needless to say you should have an lp gas detector and a carbon monoxide detector along with a smoke detector in the unit. Don't forget fresh batteries for all the detectors.
