To do a proper job you will need both. The variable
speed to do the heavy work and the random orbital to
finish and remove swirl marks.
I started mine last year and you will find that there
is no end to the job so you will have lots of use for
the polisher.
Check out this site for some great polish and buffer
pads. Paul Embry was a big help to
