Hello all.
After talking to Inland
RV about electric brakes, their charge for "loaded backing plates" was
$88.20 each. An armature plate was $85.00 each. So the setup for
both wheels is $346.00 plus shipping. My local Henderson Wheel &
Supply company will sell me a complete new axle, springs, electric brakes, and
drums, for $350.00. This seems like a no-brainer to me. But perhaps
someone would offer a word or two on the subject. If I do this switch, I
will have, for those who are wanting to stay truly original, an original axle,
complete with breakaway master cylinder, drums, etc. Ping me offlist if
anyone is interested. I also need to get rid of a pair of Airstream
wheels. They were on my Bubble, but are from a later model
Airstream. I can supply a photo if anyone is interested.
