Hey Polly, unless you are traveling on some gravel roads or roads under
construction, I think the rock guard is not needed.  Just as soon as I
say that , then something will happen.   I never travel with a rock
guard, but I also avoid gravel roads.  A temp piece of panelling taped
or screwed on will do the job.
