[VAC] Episode II : The Pooptank Fiasco
When last, we heard from our hero..... I was now ready to remove the throne
room stall......but when I pulled on it the black water tank started to move
with the stall, then all motion ceased. The stall is built around the
tank...NOOooooooo......The Airstream god hates meeeee.....Ok...I'm over it.
Outside Layin' on my back under the ol' 54,enjoying the close up intimate
veiw of the rot and decay stretching from the back of the weel well to almost
the bumper, and about one third accross. Well...I wanted an excuse to put in a
grey water tank....so OFF WITH THEIR HEADS...ahem the belly pan. First I had
to remove all the old plumbing from under the trailer. This was amazingly
done without one single curse being uttered or yelled. The 54 seems to hahe
had constant problems with water around the entire bahroom area forever.
everything is shot. The belly pan already had multiple patches around all the
plumbing. The skin at the bottom sides is abit messy but fixable. I removed
all the patches and part ove the tank valve so I could pull it thru the
floor.HaHaHa...It pulled thru the floor but not thru the shower pan...now I'm
cursing.....This thing is assembled like an interlocking puzzle. To remove
one thing ,you have to remove something else, but, you have to remove
something else before you can remove the last item. The inventor of the
Rubic's cube designed this trailer not Wally. I finally got the valve removed
from the tank, the tank removed from the stall and the stall removed from it's
position in the trailer....now I can take the stall outside for
cleaning.....HaHaHa....the stall is bigger than the walkway between the
kitchen and the closets opposite the kithchen. Better yet the stall is bigger
than the damned doorway. After some looking around to see how to take apart
the kitchen. I discover by the way things are assembled the bathroom was
installed AFTER the kitchen. The throne room stall was built as a unit INSIDE
not out side then put in. And it was built with buck rivets. If I want to
take the stall outside I will have to do it one piece at a time. After I drill
out all the rivets. I examined the tank it was not the culprit of all the
water damage. It was defintely the failing bathroom stall that caused all the
damage. All of the floor from the axel back needs replaced. Since that's half
the trailer ,I might as well go for broke and replace the other half also.
There is rot around the door. On the up side of all of this...it's easier
than rebuilding a car. Until next time kids......eat all yer veggies
and take your vitamins. Trike
