Re: [VAC] catalytic furnace

There is a "Platinum Cat" brand of catalytic heater (made by Thermal
Systems, 2757 29th St. S.W., Tumwater, WA, (360) 353-0539) which solves
the condensation problem by being a vented installation. These heaters
also don't require that windows or vents be kept cracked. The downside is
that the installation is more complicated and less flexible. I can't put
my hands on the installation info right now, but my recollection is that
the requirement is for a 1.5" exterior vent opening, and that it can be
achieved either by going directly out the back of the unit (so the vent
is low on the outside wall of the trailer) or by using a 1.5" plastic
pipe to go out the roof.

"I do not have, nor have I ever had, any affiliation with any catalytic
heater." But I have been collecting info and mulling over the options.
