[VAC] Brake control ??

Need a little information/advice - I had a Tekonsa brake controller installed 
today.  I was told it was 1 to 1 1/2 hour job.  It took 4 hours and I was 
impatient when I left so probably didn't check things out as well as I should 
have until I was on the way home in the dark and had no dash lights.  Then I 
noticed that the yellow light on the controller is on all the time 
(unfortunately not bright enough to make up for the lack of dash lights!).  
This light does not go off when the ignition is off.  This isn't correct, is 
it?  Won't this run the battery down??
