[SilverStreak] SS Gold Trim Question

The SS Gold Trim that runs around the lower portion of trailer, The screws
that hold it on after time get rusted and look like a rusty screw basically.
Has anyone here ever backed out their screws and replaced them with a new
stainless screw or any type of newer screw that looks better than the rusted
looking ones?
If so, are there any issues with sealing? do you need to run a bead of
silicone on the new screw?
