Re: [SilverStreak] temp repair Hinge breakage

My sentiments exactly-- 2 trailers and no hinge problems so guess I too on
borrowed" time. Both trailers came with dead bolts installed just below
door handle and although I have keys to fit only use deadbolt locks to
secure the door. Would like to see hinges available and will most likely
order a set if Braun is able to make them. Even at $200 a set would be
good thing to carry with you on trips as insurance. One thing I noticed in
some descriptions of moving trailer with broken hinge is how to secure it.
I always carry nylon tie down straps in my truck and see where you could
use 2 or 3 straps to go around the trailer across the door and hold it
securely until repairs could be made. Just a thought.

Wow...all of the hinge problems. Our '79 is still on the original hinges.
The trailer has been used and has a lot of miles on it. I guess I am
running
on borred time.
