Re: [SilverStreak] replacing a floor in the Silver Streak

Jason,
I've not done your early model. Have not done SS. All are hand-made and thus
each has differences. Have done Streamline and others like Schult. Don't
think you need to pull exterior panels and suggest you don't. Suggest doing
sections at a time. Yes use marine and none other. You will have to remove
old fasteners along perimeter channel into floor as you go. Put aluminum
paint on foundation structure as you go. You don't have to work yourself to
death prepping those before painting. Rattle can and brushing aluminum paint
works good. More is better. You probably need 3/4 and not 5/8.

Try to take pictures B4 and after. I would like to see. Use blue tape or
other marking labels to keep up with your panels. When reinstalling panels
use temporary #8 or #6 Phillips screws to align before tightly riveting. Use
huge card board patterns for radius ends if floor too bad for pattern.

A big tough hard job that will be so rewarding. I'm in your corner and
cheering you on.
