[SilverStreak] rim/tire assistance needed

Hello all, I currently have a tire/rim dilemma with my 1958 Silver Streak
Clipper. I have four old Firestone Transport 150 7-14.5 load range D 8 ply
rating tires on the trailer now. They have good tread but are old and Ibm
sure
I will suffer tread separation with any road time. Everything that I have
read on this address over the past years highly suggests converting to 15b
rims/tires: better tires(?) but certainly more availability should I suffer
a
double blow-out anywhere during a road trip. And I agree with this
assessment.
Now to my problem. The current tires give me B>b clearance against the
front
edge of the wheel well and they measure 26b across with the 14.5 rims.
Does anyone have any ideas what 15b rims/tires I can get so that they will
fit into my wheel wells? On reading back though my many copies off of this
link I have found tires listed as Sumitomo 7.00Rx15 radial load range D 6 ply
and Yokohama 700-15 but canbt tell whether either of these would measure
out
to the 26b maximum that I need in order to fit inside my wheel well.
Has anyone else found a solution to this problem with an older silver
streak? Ibll send blessing and prayers for any help anyone can provide.
And again
thanks to everyone for all the sharings. Jim -)
