Philip,

Since you have made a direct negative statement on what I've said earlierthis
morning about the Reese dual cam hitch I feel that I need to reply.

I totally agree with a lot of what you have to say, --- but the Reesedual cam
system has very adequately kept my Suburban and 31ft. Airstream safeat all
times. The Reese system has kept the tow vehicle and trailer at "proper"angles
at all times for safe handling. If the system keeps the two from becomingat
dangerious angles I feel that it has properly done it's job. The Reesehas very
adequately kept me from "crossing that line." I do however understandwhat you
are saying if that line ever does get crossed.

Many years ago, when I was young, inexperienced and a sort of risk taker,I
towed a heavily loaded utility trailer that was not properly balancedover a
hundred miles on the interstate. In answer to your comment ---- YES---- I have
personally experienced out of control severe sway. Everyone that wasaround me
backed off to watch the show that ignorant me was putting on. Fromabout 55 mph
all I could do was to back off and be patient and all did end well.I had
complete material for a whole smaller building loaded on that trailerso it was
very heavy. I was fortunate in that I did learn a very important lessonthe hard
way with no property damage or injury.

I have also , as many others, towed many thousands of miles using theReese dual
cam system. It is a very good system and has performed well even intough towing
conditions. I have carefully towed large RV's in high wind conditionswhere
several semis had over turned with their loads. I have towed very carefullyover
mountain passes that were nothing but a sheet of slick ice. Other thanthat one
incident with the utility trailer, with nothing but a ball hitch, I'venever had
any other dangerous towing experiences.

I know that you represent Hensley, which is a great hitch system tomy
understanding. I even have the video and literature on your systemand some day
in the future might even purchase one for myself. However, I personallyfeel
very strongly that the Reese dual cam system is a great system alsoand does the
job well for the dollars invested.

Regards,

Pat
